Photographs of Lot 15 According to the Sale Document, Lot 15 is a 'Pair of Brick and Slated Cottages, one containing three Bedrooms, Attic, two Sitting Rooms, Kitchen and Washhouse. Good Garden. The other has one Bedroom, Attic, Sitting Room and Wash-house. Good Garden. Gas and Main Water connected to both. They form part of Ord. No. 210 and have an area of approximately 0.280 acre'. However, on the map, Ord. No. 210 seems to be the land occupied by the old Post Office, which is just over an acre in size, whereas the site of Lot 15 appears to be No. 213. The three-bedroom cottage on Lot 15 was then named 'Fairview', and was occupied by Mr. Anderson Inglis and his family (his son was also named 'Anderson') while Mr. Garrett lived in the one-bedroom cottage on School Road. The Garrett brothers had a building contractors' business opposite 'Fairview' (see the article on the Arborfield Parish Cottages adjacent to their yard for details of some of their work). Here's a Collier postcard of Arborfield Cross, which shows the frontage of Lot 15 on the left. Garrett Brothers' builder's yard is on the right, behind the signpost.
Another more recent photo shows part of Lot 15 on the far left, as viewed from the Pond:
