This photo, from the Collier Collection, is reproduced by permission of the Museum of English Rural Life. It is a view of Sindlesham Road from the five-way crossroads, looking over the village pond.  There were many ponds in Arborfield thanks to the many springs and the clay soil, as can be seen on the 1939 Tithe Apportionment Map. Newland Farm looks much the same now as it did when the photo was taken, though there are now few out-buildings across the road.

To the left, off the picture, is the Police House.
